David then attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. After two semesters with a ranking in the top-10% of his class, David transferred to the University of Miami School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate degree in 2004.

While in law school in Miami, David interned with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, which later turned into full-time employment upon graduation.

While at the State Attorney's office, David handled cases ranging from DUIs and misdemeanor crimes to juvenile cases and felony cases — including but not limited to cases of child abuse, felony battery / assault, robbery, drug trafficking, lewd and lascivious molestation of a child, weapons cases and sexual battery. All those cases were handled prior to his tenure as a cyber crimes prosecutor and a Miami-Dade criminal defense attorney.

While assigned to cyber crimes, as a South Florida cyber crime attorney, David was responsible for proactive investigations into computer forensics, an emerging area of the law. That exposure and training on how computers operate and retain data has given him insight into how computer cases are not only prosecuted, but also defended. While in the Cyber Crime Unit, David handled cases including child solicitation, possession of child pornography, unauthorized access to computer networks, unauthorized access to wireless networks, insurance fraud and transmission of material harmful to minors. Additionally, David was an integral part of numerous investigations, for which he would help draft search warrants. Through these, he gained insight into the various legal intricacies of cyber crimes investigation and prosecution.

David's experience has offered him a wealth of insight, training and exposure to Internet crimes and how the legal system to deal with computer crimes is being formed.
